Since the number of ESN sections is still growing, there is also a growing need for more coordination in the network. A development strategy is necessary for the expansion and controlling of our network and to assure that the brand name ‘ESN’ is not diluted. Strategic topics discussed are; quantity vs. quality of the network, requirements for new (start-up) sections and necessary changes to already existing sections.

Currently, work is started on a requirements list for ESN sections. A differentiation will be made between a generic requirements list (which will be applicable to all ESN sections in the network) and an optional requirements list (which can be voted upon in the different National Platforms). Aim of the introduction of a requirements list is to raise the quality of our sections network wide.

We know how important human resources are for Network and Events Committee. That’s why we have responsible persons who take care for all NEC members. They recruit new members and integrate them into the committee. They are responsible for positive atmosphere inside the committee. The NEC buddy system is a procedure in which two people, one buddy (old, experience member) and one newbie, operate together as a single unit so that they are able to monitor and help each other. And to get each other better we have our own NECBook (similar to very popular FaceBook ;).
Public relations includes ongoing activities to ensure the committee has a strong public image. Public relations activities include helping the public to understand the committe and its projects. PR is responsible for website, Facebook, managing the media, ...
